JPMorgan Engineering Pay: What you'll earn as an analyst, associate and VP

JPMorgan spends a lot of money on tech. According to its 2025 investor day, the bank budgeted $18bn for technology. It ended the year with a non-compensation technology expense of $11bn according to its Q4 results, which implies a lot has been set aside for engineering pay.

The bank's technology team is rapidly expanding, accounting for over 1,000 of its 7,000+ current job openings, but how much can you expect to make if you get in?

How much are engineering analysts, associates and VPs paid at JPMorgan?

Using self-reported compensation numbers posted to Levels.fyi since the start of 2025, we've analyzed over 1,200 datapoints to calculate average total compensation figures at each level of seniority at JPMorgan.

The US naturally pays the most at each level of seniority, with the UK lagging slightly behind. There is a big disparity between pay in those two regions and the bank's global capacity centres (GCCs) in India; pay for Indian engineering analysts is just $23.5k on average compared to $61k in the UK and $108k in the US.

From analyst to associate, the UK has the largest average rise in pay. Total compensation increases by over 70% to $105k. Pay for Indian engineers increases by ~50% while the pay increase for US associates is closer to 35%.

The US, similarly, has the smallest pay increase for VPs. Pay for UK engineers at JPMorgan rises over 70% again from associate to VP while pay in India almost doubles to $71k.

At executive director level, pay in each seniority rises massively. JPMorgan pays US-based EDs the most, $348k on average, but Indian engineers once again had the largest pay increase, more than doubling compensation to an average of $144k at ED level.

Which types of engineers earn the most at JPMorgan

Levels.fyi also breaks down the engineering divisions of its datapoints. When looking at global average figures for a number of its most prominent divisions, it may come as no surprise to see what pays the most.

AI engineers at JPMorgan earn an average of $207k. In New York, they can earn much more; one VP reported a total compensation of $400k with a salary of $260k, while another earned a total of $300k. For some of its most unique AI roles, JPMorgan offers up to $325k in salary alone.

The lowest paying division, by contrast, is full-stack. This is in part because these roles are much more common in its lower paying offices. Pay for US full-stack engineers was $146k, with pay reaching as high as $440k for one Texas-based full-stack executive director.
