Sources say the US bank cut Markus Weber, a single name CDS trader who joined in 2021. He previously worked for hedge fund Millennium, for Nomura (where he was head of macro credit) and for Lehman Brothers (where he was head of credit indices and options flow trading for Europe).
Morgan Stanley declined to comment. The bank is cutting 2,000 jobs, or 2-3% of its employees, excluding financial advisors.
Other recent departures include Nicholas Brice, the US head of leveraged finance trading. Brice left Morgan Stanley this week, although his departure was thought to be unrelated to the program of cost reductions.
