Release Train Engineer
The Role: Release Train Engineer
The Grade: 12
The Location: NY, NY OR US, Virtual

Responsibilities:

As an RTE:
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness and PI planning events
  • Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives
  • Assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings
  • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindset
  • Help manage risks and dependencies
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System Architects/Engineering
  • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand
  • Work with the Program Management Office on program execution and operational excellence
  • Facilitate System Demos
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops
  • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices
  • Listen and support teams in problem identification and decision-making
  • Create an environment of mutual influence
  • Understand and empathize with others
  • Encourage and support the personal development of each individual and the development of teams
  • Coach people with powerful questions rather than use authority
  • Think beyond day-to-day activities; apply systems thinking
  • Support the teams' commitments
  • Be open and appreciate openness in others
Basic Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills required
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills required, as is a focused attention to detail
  • A proven willingness to learn, a positive service attitude, and an ability to work in a fast-paced, high demand work environment
  • 3+ years working in Agile environment as Scrum Master
  • 3+ year working in SAFe environment as an RTE
  • RTE Certified
  • Excellent understanding of development concepts and SDLC methodologies.
  • Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work with little oversight and supervision, while knowing when to escalate transparently
  • Experience with globally distributed teams
  • Excellent understanding of development concepts and SDLC methodologies
  • Adherence to architecture standards, risk management and security policies.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with other Agile/Lean practices such as XP or Kanban
  • Practice of Continuous Integration or Continuous Delivery
  • Coaching Certificate
  • A-CSM/CSP-SM Certified
  • SPC Certified
Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Technology, or Operations.
Compensation/Benefits Information:
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,200 - $170,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
