Are you an experienced Accounts and Audit Senior Manager or Associate Director looking for a genuine route to Director within a growing independent accountancy practice?



Fletcher George is working with a modern firm of Chartered Accountants in Leatherhead to recruit a Senior Manager or Associate Director for a newly created, senior-level position. The successful candidate will take on a broad, highly visible role with significant client responsibility, leadership involvement and the opportunity to progress to Director over the next one to three years.



This opportunity would suit an ACA or ACCA-qualified general practice professional with strong accounting and audit experience. You will enjoy working with a varied client portfolio that includes owner-managed businesses, private clients, groups, charities and LLPs, while helping to guide the firm through its continued growth.

The practice is an independent, high-growth firm of Chartered Accountants with a diverse client base located primarily across Surrey and the surrounding area. It provides a full range of Audit, Accounting, Tax and Outsourcing services.

The Role



As Accounts & Audit Senior Manager or Associate Director, you will work closely with the Partners and take responsibility for a broad range of client, team and practice management activities.



Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients


• Reviewing and preparing statutory accounts for privately owned businesses, groups, charities and LLPs


• Providing commercially focused accounting and business advisory support


• Overseeing the work and delivery of the Audit team


• Liaising closely with clients and Partners on accounting and audit matters


• Reviewing work and maintaining high standards of technical quality


• Supporting, mentoring and developing qualified and part-qualified team members


• Contributing to the firm's established ACA and ACCA training programme


• Helping to improve internal processes and support the continued development of the practice


• Taking an active role in the future growth and direction of the firm

You will have considerable autonomy and the opportunity to become a key decision-maker within the business.




About You



The firm is keen to meet senior accountancy practice professionals who can combine strong technical knowledge with confident client and team leadership.



You are likely to have:

• ACA or ACCA qualification


• Current accounting and audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice


• Experience managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and other privately owned organisations


• Strong statutory accounts preparation and review skills


• Experience overseeing audit work and leading a team


• The confidence to advise clients and work closely with Partners


• A commercially aware and forward-thinking approach


• Confidence using modern accounting technology, including Xero


• An interest in obtaining a Practising Certificate and RI status as part of your progression towards Director
