We are seeking an experienced Property Treaty Underwriter to lead the underwriting and development of our North Asia - China, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan portfolio. This role is responsible for managing treaty reinsurance business across key markets in the region, ensuring profitable growth, and building strong client and broker relationships.

Underwriting Excellence
- Assess, price, and negotiate property treaty reinsurance contracts in line with company risk appetite and underwriting guidelines.
- Conduct detailed risk analysis, including catastrophe modelling and model validation, exposure management, and portfolio impact assessments.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and rating agency expectations.
Portfolio Development
- Drive strategic growth of the North Asia property treaty portfolio, balancing profitability with market share objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop tailored solutions for cedants and brokers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging risks to refine underwriting strategies.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, brokers, and industry stakeholders in North Asia.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance market presence.
Analytics & Reporting
- Provide regular portfolio performance reports and insights to senior management.
- Contribute to the development of underwriting tools, models, and best practices.
- Support capital allocation decisions through accurate risk assessment and portfolio steering.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with minimum 10 years' experience of good track record in structured treaty underwriting and preferably experience transacting in regional and retrocession treaty in Asia
- Sound technical knowledge of pricing and structuring customised reinsurance program
- Possess strong relationships in the market with cedants and brokers
- University degree in related disciplines
- Strong problem solving and quantitative skills (including superb MS Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong sales, communication and influencing skills
- Commitment to high quality output and timeliness
