Description and Requirements

Due to increasing project demands and the maintenance of our cloud-based application portfolio, we are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with strong Java and Azure expertise to strengthen our development team and support strategic technology initiatives.

The Senior Full Stack Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using Java and Microsoft Azure technologies. This role will work closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions that support business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, modern web technologies, and Azure cloud services.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions for cloud-native and microservices-based solutions.
• Develop and implement scalable, secure, and reliable solutions on Microsoft Azure, leveraging services such as App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL, and other relevant Azure resources.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, estimate work, and deliver features according to project timelines.
• Ensure application quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and adherence to engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering engineering excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to software development processes, system performance, security, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in technical planning, risk assessment, and decision-making for strategic technology initiatives.
• Make technical recommendations and implementation decisions within assigned projects.
• Lead development activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Influence architecture, technology selection, and engineering best practices for application development and cloud modernization initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on experience in full-stack application development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework for building enterprise applications and RESTful APIs.
• Experience developing modern web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including application hosting, cloud-native development, and cloud operations.
• Experience designing and developing microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of relational (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g. Azure Cosmos) databases and database design principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems (Git), and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and secure coding practices.
• Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing complex applications in production environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams.
• Business-level English and Japanese communication skills (written and verbal).
• Azure certifications such as Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker, and containerized application development.
• Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering best practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Familiarity with emerging AI technologies, tools, and industry trends.
• Experience using AI-powered productivity or development tools is a plus.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn and adopt AI-driven solutions in software development.
