Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Client Engagement : Cultivate and maintain relationships with institutional clients (hedge funds, asset managers, corporates) to identify OTC swaps trading opportunities
- Trade Execution : Price and execute OTC commodity swaps (e.g., crude oil, natural gas, base metals, agriculturals) and basis swaps, optimizing execution for clients
- Trading System Optimization: Collaborate with quant and technology teams to design, test, and optimize client trading platforms and internal pricing/risk systems for enhanced efficiency and accuracy
- Market Analysis : Monitor macroeconomic trends, central bank policies, and volatility shifts to manage position-taking strategies and hedging solutions
- Risk Oversight: Collaborate with traders to manage exposure, including position hedging, credit risk, and P&L volatility
- Structured Solutions: Design bespoke swaps for clients (e.g., index-linked hedges, crack spread structures, cross-commodity trades)
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all trades adhere to ISDA protocols, Dodd-Frank/EMIR regulations, and internal compliance policies.
- Cross-Desk Collaboration: Partner with physical traders, research, and operations to enhance client strategies and post-trade efficiency
- Innovation : Develop tailored swap solutions for complex client needs (e.g., QIS Strategy Index construction, Embedded Optionality in physical trade structure)
Requirements
- Master’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in commodity derivatives trading/sales, OTC swaps structuring, or client-facing commodity risk management
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as a junior Trader position
- Extensive knowledge in commodity physical markets and OTC derivatives trading business is preferred
- In-depth understanding of energy (crude, natural gas), metals (base/precious), or agricultural commodity markets would be an advantage
- Strong analytical, quantitative, interpersonal, and client-serving skills; ability to thrive in fast-paced trading environments
- Proactive mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently while collaborating as a team player
- Excellent command of English (both spoken and written); fluency in Cantonese is a plus
- Certified as FRM, CFA, or licensed with relevant regulatory credential is advantageous
