Role Overview

ANZ is one of Australia’s leading banks. ANZ Technology Chengdu is creating a next generation Big Data Ecosystem to unlock the power of ANZ’s data through advanced analytics and insights.

The Big Data Ecosystem includes the big data platform, the analytics and visualization tools used for Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Data Mining, the data integration/ETL frameworks and operational banking products/solutions which utilise the technology.

ANZ is seeking an experienced technical architect to define and drive the architecture of its Big Data Ecosystem, from data acquisition through to consumption. The technical architect will define the overall architecture, plan the architectural runway to support upcoming initiatives, design/evaluate solutions and provide technical expertise to engineering teams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • 8 years’ overall experience working on enterprise-class data solutions
  • Advanced skills/experience in database systems or data warehousing, data analysis, ETL, MI/BI, solutions design
  • Advanced skills/experience designing enterprise-class software solutions using Java
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Innovative problem-solving skills
  • Broad source system knowledge, including Mainframe and non-Mainframe
  • 3 years’ experience and deep subject-matter expertise on Big Data (Hadoop) platform – preferable Cloudera stack (HDFS, Spark, Hive/Impala, YARN, HBase, Zookeeper, Solr, Kafka, Flume, Oozie)
  • Advanced skills in at least 2 of:
    • Devops techniques and tools; CI/CD, Atlassian suite(JIRA, Bamboo, Confluence, Bitbucket), Cucumber, Junit, Test Automation, Configuration management
    • Data Science tools (Python-based frameworks/libraries, R, Matlab etc)
    • ETL tools (e.g. IBM DataStage, Ab Initio, etc)
    • Data modelling and data visualisation tools and techniques
    • Cloudera Data Science Workbench (CDSW) or Trifacta Data Wrangler
