Software Engineer – Platform & Distributed Systems

Multiple roles open, from Junior to Senior

We're growing our platform engineering function and hiring across levels, from engineers early in their career to experienced distributed-systems specialists. If you're passionate about building the infrastructure that powers large-scale, high-performance computing environments, we want to hear from you.

Our platform team builds and operates the runtime environments, distributed services, and tooling that let engineers and researchers deploy, scale, and run their workloads reliably across global infrastructure. You'll work at the intersection of platform engineering, distributed systems, and high-performance computing, building the foundational services that thousands of internal users depend on every day.

1. What You'll Do Design, build, and operate distributed services that manage compute workloads, deployment, and data access across large-scale infrastructure
2. Develop platform APIs and self-service tooling that improve the productivity of engineering and research teams
3. Own services end-to-end: from requirements gathering and design through implementation, deployment, and production operation
4. Partner closely with internal stakeholders to translate complex needs into scalable platform capabilities
5. Improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of compute-intensive workflows
6. Build and support solutions for scheduling, resource management, observability, and security
7. Turn recurring operational issues into lasting platform improvements
8. Balance trade-offs between latency, throughput, simplicity, scalability, reliability, and maintainability

What We're Looking For

Junior / Mid-level (roughly 1–3 years' experience)

1. Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java
2. Strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in solving complex problems programmatically
3. Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
4. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux environments
5. Exposure to distributed computing and cloud-native software design
6. A DevOps mindset — comfortable working across the full application lifecycle
7. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams

Senior (5+ years' experience)

1. BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
2. Proven track record building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production
3. Strong proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Rust, or Go
4. Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, performance, reliability, and fault tolerance
5. Experience designing platforms or infrastructure used by other engineers

Nice to have (any level)

1. Experience with internal developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, orchestration systems, or HPC environments
2. Familiarity with GPU-accelerated workloads and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
3. Experience supporting researchers, data scientists, or other highly technical users
4. Exposure to quantitative finance or large-scale, data-intensive environments
5. No prior background in financial markets is required - curiosity and a willingness to learn matter more
