THE ROLE
This role will sit within the firm's core development team and will see lead the design, development and delivery of real-time, ultra-low-latency web-based solutions on a product driven, end-to-end basis. This means you will touch on (take responsibility for) the entire tech-stack front-to-back. As such, experience and interest working on a variety of layers and technologies within a SOA environment is a must.
You lead a small (2-3 person) Agile team from a wider engineering presence of 30. The Core Engineering Team are responsible for the firm's core platform, the project work will revolve around Performance Optimisation and improvements. The core system processes over 8M transactions per second (600B per day) as such, experience delivering systems which are highly transactional in nature or on high-traffic public facing sites is a must. Due to the size, structure and fluidity of environment, experience working in both small/start-up & larger, more structured environments would be beneficial.
From a Lead/Management perspective, you must be skilled at empowering a high performing Engineering team whilst also leading from the front (from a hands-on coding point of view).
