  • A role as a Big Data Engineer within a newly established Analytics IT team. This team designs and builds an analytics platform using modern Big Data technologies and provides services to enable Credit Suisse Data Scientists with their work
  • Collaborate closely with business facing teams to understand data and functional requirements
  • Provide input into overall IT architecture of the solution, including technical environment configuration, data modelling, data integration, data presentation, information security and other IT architecture related topics
  • Design and build data pipelines to ingest, integrate, standardise, clean and publish data
  • Define and build integration patterns with downstream applications
  • Support Data Scientist in their day-to-day work on a variety of topics, including tools and data analysis methods
  • Take part in creating analytical deliverables for the business stakeholders


You Offer
  • Education in IT or another technical specialisation, ideally with focus on Data Management
  • Work experience as a Data Engineer using Big Data technologies
  • Experience with Hadoop based analytical solutions, ideally on Cloudera distribution
  • Practical skills in creating data processing pipelines (Python, Spark, Scala or a similar tools)
  • Good knowledge of SQL, Hive and Impala databases
  • Ideally experience with Jupyter Notebook, Hue and/or other end user tools
  • Tableau experience is a plus
  • Splunk experience is a plus
  • Agile development experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, be comfortable with changing priorities and tight deadlines, manage you own workload with minimum supervison
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with colleagues in IT and business groups
  • Very good communication skills in English; German is an advantage
