System Analyst - AIS Teradata Development DBA

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Manage, design and support on practices of storage management, archive, restore, data masking, data slicing and disaster recovery
- Configure and manage multiple TEST environments, code deployment & verification
- Work with data modelling and development teams to create new databases, replicate data across environments
- Monitor and manage databases, perform SQL tuning and analysis and grant data level access privileges
- Perform capacity planning including allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements
- Provide quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate data usage
- Create and execute scripts for various database maintenance activities.
- Teradata version upgrade activities, Teradata-Patch implementation, Database parameter (DB or OS level) tuning

Qualifications
Required Skillset:
- 4-5 years of experience as an Teradata Database Administrator for V2R6 or later
- Familiar with administrative tools such as Teradata Administrator, Teradata Manager, SQL Assistant and TASM configuration within Viewpoint
- With in-depth knowledge on Teradata cost based query optimizer and identify potential bottlenecks with queries from the aspects of query writing, skewed redistributions, join order, optimizer statistics and physical design considerations
- Have good experience on Teradata Daily activities such as system performance reports, query tuning, users maintenance and backup/restore
- Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks/issues with tens of terabytes spread across multiple nodes
- Hands-on experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse projects with good FDLDM knowledge
- Have good Hadoop knowledge will be an added advantage
- Ability to share knowledge and train internal support team is highly desired
- Have good analytical, problem solving skills and adapt in integration work
- Good verbal and written communication skills and able to manage key stakeholders, i.e. users, project team, security, compliance and IT operations
