Financial Markets Cross Product Projects (FM XPP) owns and delivers technology and process change initiatives whose impact spans across multiple asset classes and/or technology platforms. Housed within the FM Technology organisation, FM XPP provides project delivery expertise and domain knowledge across FM technology, enterprise architecture and front-to-back FM business processes. Working in the FM XPP Team, this resource will be required to lead project deliveries, encompassing business process and control engineering as well as technology enhancements to FM platforms. This resource will be required to face off to the Country Functions and in-country FM businesses in order to drive project delivery impacting specific locations. Candidates with relevant experience in the financial markets domain, front-to-back business processes, appropriate FM applications and experience in project delivery would be suitable for the role. Take responsibility for project delivery to an agreed plan by effectively managing scope, timeline and cost. Actively manage stakeholder expectations by maintaining risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies with appropriate mitigation plans.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

*Develop, maintain and track delivery plans *Engage with all teams, ensuring scope is clearly understood. *Gather and consolidate estimates and be able to report overall projected expenditure for the work streams in line with Bank project standards and the adopted project delivery framework used throughout Standard Chartered. *Manage delivery dependencies, risks and issues *Provide weekly status reporting and prepare steering committee materials. *Facilitate and minute weekly working committee meetings. *Help non-technology teams plan required work to ensure compliance e.g. establishment of new compliance policy and procedures *Engage with our Build counterparts both onshore and offshore (predominantly Tianjin, China) to ensure that the correct focus on work items is being maintained and that resources are assigned appropriately *Gain an in depth knowledge of current business processes, inefficiencies, issues and risk. *Pro-actively engage, manage and build strong relationships with both business and technology (including vendors) stakeholders *Work with the business to understand their requirements, define new processes and workflows. Question and challenge the status quo and assumptions *Propose relevant solutions and alternatives to meet business needs. Translate into clear, automated and globally standardized future state models *Create clear and process project plans complying to the banks project delivery standards. *Ensure the overall quality of project documents meet the bank's standards *Work proactively with your fellow Project members at times across geographies, ensuring work is proportionally distributed and that targets and project deadlines are met. *Ensure development and testing teams understand the requirements and future state processes and that they are fully engaged early on in the project. *Provide on-going management and issue mitigation to the technology, business analysts, system analysts and testing teams as required e.g. reviewing of test cases, close out open issues/questions, manage change request process etc. *Coordinate and drive project milestones across the System Development Lifecycle engaging all project team members and project stakeholders. *Identify risks and issues early. Communicate them to the relevant people in a timely manner. Propose and plan mitigating steps. *Work closely with Programme Managers to ensure stakeholders are fully engaged, communications are regular and honest and expectations are well managed

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications * Graduates from a discipline related to Software Engineering, Information Management, Knowledge Science or equivalent. Domain knowledge * Minimum 8-10 years of work experience in Financial Markets domain * Knowledge and practical experience in a FM business process and controls * Work experience in business analysis and supporting project management activities * Knowledge in Financial Markets is required. Knowledge of one or more of the following banking domain is advantageous : * Retail Banking * Private Banking & Wealth Management * Transaction Banking * Lending * Credit & Risk Technical skills * Comfortable with SQL queries and understanding of Database concepts advantageous * Exposure to meta data management tools like Informatica is advantageous * Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Project * Exposure to Murex and SunGuard settlement systems advantageous Intrinsic traits * Attention to detail * Curiosity * High degree of responsibility * Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision * Structure and discipline * Good written communication skills * Able to challenge/question
